How to Apply

As an approved participant, Level Plumbing can help you with the loan process. The process involves:

Step 1: You must check first if you are eligible to apply for the program as an ACT Household participant. Your house must pass the Unimproved Value (UV) thresholds as well. You can check each at Sustainable Household Scheme and Access Canberra.

Step 2: If you are qualified for the scheme and your house passed the UV threshold, proceed by attending a free one-hour online workshop sponsored by ACT. You can check the schedule here.

Step 3: Get a free quote and some advice on whether your desired hot water heat pump system is suitable for your house.

Step 4: Finally, contact Level Plumbing and let us know if you are happy with the quote, as well as if you would like to participate in the Sustainable Household Scheme.

Once you are done with the four steps, we will then process the loan on your behalf. Our partner and loan provider Brighte will then reach out to you and ask you to apply for the Sustainable Household Scheme’s 0% interest loan.

We will start the installation once your application is approved. If successful, the loan provider will contact you to confirm the installation and the payment process.

Am I Eligible?

The zero-interest financing offered by ACT is only applicable if the participant met all the qualifications included in the Sustainable Household Scheme. To see if you are eligible, check the Climate Choices website and guidelines.

On one hand, below is the summary of the program’s eligibility requirements.

The person must own the property in which the installation is to occur; or
Living with the person who owns the property in which the installation is to occur.

Products may be installed in an eligible property which:

Is a standalone residence or a unit titled property.
Is a property that is geographically located within the ACT.
Requires the transition from gas or an inefficient electric appliance.
Meet the Unimproved Value (UV) thresholds.

Your Role

‣ You must read and agree to the terms and conditions surrounding the program. The applicant agreement can be found on Everyday Climate Choices’ webpage.

‣ Research and educate yourself on the product most suited to your needs.

‣ To help you, Everyday Climate Choices has provided product factsheets which applicants can access through its website. You can also find other resources that can help you with your research.

‣ Select ACT-approved suppliers that meet your individual requirements as well as expectations.

‣ Check your eligibility.

‣ Opt for the best quote for your needs.

‣ You must understand your obligations as a borrower, particularly those included in the agreement.

‣ Thoroughly read and understand the terms and conditions included in the supplier agreement. It may include product maintenance and warranty period.

‣ Give ACT Government your consent to gather relevant information from you when needed. It is to provide you with tailored assistance as well as to help with the ongoing improvement of the financing program. Collected information will be kept confidential and will onlybe reviewed by the Program delivery team.

Loan Provider’s Role

‣ Assess your rebate/loan application and your eligibility for a loan.

‣ Pay the product supplier on your behalf once the system is successfully installed.

‣ Receive your loan payments for the term of your loan.

‣ Handle all information between customers, suppliers, and the ACT Government.

‣ Manage all loan-related complaints from customers.

‣ Oversee all suppliers’ performance, including safety and quality assessments

‣ Process applications where the customer decides to apply for a loan as well as the rebate. Customers applying for a rebate only will have no interaction with the loan provider.

Approved Supplier's Role

‣ Assess the suitability of your home, provide a quote for the product and installation, answer questions regarding the system and help you with your application;

‣ Check the applicant’s eligibility by requesting proof from the Australian government.

‣ Pensioner Concession Card or DVA Gold Card.

‣ Arrange the installation process of the unit.

‣ Hires a qualified and certified installer.

‣ Provides comprehensive information about the product.

‣ Fix any issues with the installed product in line with product warranties.

Unauthorised Suppliers

Ensure the supplier you have chosen is an approved supplier as part of the Sustainable Household Scheme. Check the Brighte website to see all authorized suppliers. Be wary that fraudulent persons may claim to be approved suppliers.
